Cat in a Habit
Relax Gracie…

This is how I found Gracie when I came home today.  It isn’t the first time, either.  Apparently its true what we keep saying, everyone enjoys some down time here at the Hardeman House…some more than others.  Anyone can relax around here, human or feline.  I don’t know, it kind of puts me in the mood to try a cat rhyme.

Cat in the Habit

There’s a cat in the box of that window right there
I can see it quite plainly though not very well
Perhaps she is stuck, quite motionless, can’t move
but I think, as she blinks, that she clearly approves
of her station, as matron, of her catified home

Come on down to the Hardeman House, we promise to give you more space than Gracie.

Gracie was rescued from the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter last fall.  We encourage everyone to give that try.  Our vet says she is in great health and clearly well-loved.  Isn’t that a great feeling?  I get that same feeling in church pretty often.  We do keep her outside to welcome guests as they come and go, so don’t worry if you have allergies, we understand.

Some friends recently stayed in a not so good b&b near Nac. I made her and her sisters promise to come back, and that I would find them a great place in town. As I was reading I noticed the tidbit about the cat. She’s just lovely, with a sweet disposition I bet. Most muted calico girls are. Lucky you. Will keep y’all in mind when I get them to come back.
